Im off to New York for a few days. Brrrrrrrrrr! I dont even own clothes for such temperatures. We might even see SNOW!
I am taking my daughter to the city to audition for the Julliard summer dance intensive and the Princeton Repertory Ballet summer dance intensive. Wish her luck!
I'll take one camera, two lenses and no flash. Im gonna give the D3's high ISO a run for its money.
I have had a few inquiries lately from some very good photographers, asking if they might second shoot a New Orleans wedding with me.
Max is my husband and second shooter. After two years of training the guy, we have quite the perfect system set up. I would not want to shoot a wedding without him. He completely understands my needs, what I want and what I expect. Plus, he has a certain charisma with people. I think to take a chance of upsetting the balance of how our interaction works would be unfair to any client.
Max will be around for the Image X 08 workshop and he and I both will be more than happy to describe the way we work, how we interact with clients etc. If anyone is truly interested in learning what makes the day work for us and our clients, please come to the workshop. Your participation in my class will not only offer answers to any questions you may have, your participation will also be providing us with the start up of our dream foundation...you know, for the kids!
Trust me, I am not involved in the workshop for personal gain. I am in it for the hope of helping others.
This will probably be the only time i involve myself in such an industry related venture. I am a much happier person when living for photography, my clients, believing in the good of people and the hope of positive change.

I have recently agreed to be the Louisiana state representative for the NAOCP. Louisiana programs are currently not set up for such charitable acts of photography. So, this is my call to all local photographers who would like to be on the list of people willing to offer their time and talent to families in need. If you have a favorite cause, go for it. We can help out the state foster system, cancer patients, animal shelters etc.
Anyone and everyone, photographers and care workers, please email me with your willingness and desire to get the ball rolling on this!
This is all a slow process of organization, contacts and paperwork. Any help is appreciated.
